Contest winners
Aspiring Translator Award: We are happy to declare Ms Paramita Roy of Ramakrishna Mission Institute Kolkata as the winner of the All India Translation Contest. Her language pair is French-English. She will receive the prize of Rs 11,000/- along with the Late Ketki Shintre Memorial Trophy for the Aspiring Professional Translator of the Year 2011. She will also be awarded a 3 month Internship at our office in Pune and receive a stipend of Rs.15,000/- per month. The prize and trophy will be awarded to her at the Awards Ceremony to be held in Pune on 29 September 2011. She also wins an all expense paid trip to Pune to receive the Award.


Professional Translator Award: We are happy to declare Ms Jayalakshmi Srinivasa Varadhan, a freelance French-English-French Translator from Chennai as The Professional Translator of the Year (2011). She will receive the prize of Rs 21,000/- along with a Trophy. The prize and trophy will be awarded to her at the Awards Ceremony to be held in Pune on 29 September 2011. She also wins an all expense paid day trip to Pune to receive the Award.


We will promote them as Brand Ambassadors for Aspiring Professional Translators and Professional translators in India respectively until we declare the new winner next year. They will take part in activities that are aimed at promoting the Profession throughout the year and their new role will be projected in the media to bring our profession in focus.
